The Downdetector service, which monitors the work of popular Internet resources, reported several thousand recorded failures in the WhatsApp messenger. The peak of complaints from users occurred at about 21:00 Moscow time on Tuesday, January 22nd.
The most common crashes were reported by residents in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Spain, as well as the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Chile.
According to site statistics, most of the users who reported a failure in WhatsApp indicate a connection problem – approximately 41%. Experiencing difficulties in sending and receiving messages – 35% and another 23% – when authorizing in the messenger.
As noted, in total, more than 2.5 thousand complaints about the operation of the service were recorded around the world. Note that at the time of this writing, the registration of new complaints about malfunctions in the messenger has stopped.
At the moment, no official messages have been received from the WhatsApp service about the situation.
Recall that on January 22, users also complained about a malfunction of another messenger – Telegram. Most of the complaints came from the territory of Russia, according to our information, due to the new round of war between Roskomnadzor and the Telegram service that opened yesterday.
